Through its IMLS-funded Leadership Now! Project, The New York Public Library (NYPL), is working to create an enhanced workforce of mid-level managers equipped with the skills and vision to transform NYPL into a learning organization, while responding to the needs of increasingly diverse users under new economic models. Leadership Now! targets mid-level managers and supervisors, including a range of positions in centralized services. The project takes place during a period of strategic change for the library system. Project staff are implementing new models of service to library patrons, ones that consolidate branch and research library work processes.
